What is the Miner Memorial Library: Help and Resources page for Canvas?

Answer

Ask-a-librarian offers a way for students to get help with research and library resources through Canvas.  Students can chat with a KCC librarian to receive immediate help, and if a librarian is not currently available, search and browse Frequently Asked Questions for an answer.  If chat is offline and the FAQs have not provided an answer, they have the option to submit a question, and receive a response during the next business day.

What are the features?

In this format, students have access to:

  • Chat help – immediate help from KCC librarians;
  • FAQs – search or browse through frequently asked questions for an answer;
  • Submit a question – If chat is off-line and FAQs haven’t answered the question, students can submit a question to be answered the next business day;
  • Access to all KCC library databases, without having to navigate out to the library’s website;
  • Access to KCC eBook collections and library catalogs, without having to navigate out to the library’s website;
  • Information about upcoming Writing and Research Workshops;
  • Links to popular help guides, such as those for citation and research help.
