How do I save an article and searches in the EBSCO databases?

Answer

The EBSCO databases allow users to save and organize articles into folders for future use.

When viewing the full text article, click the Bookmark icon at the top right to save the article to the dashboard. When signed in to your personal MyEBSCO account, the article is saved beyond the current session.

Click the Folder icon to add the article to a Project in your dashboard. When signed into your personal account, projects enable you to collect and organize the articles and eBooks you find in your search results. For example, if you’re working on multiple research projects, create a Project for each one to store articles on your different topics. You can also organize by class or topic.

You can also save your searches to the dashboard in the new EBSCO user interfaces from the result list.

Please note: You must be signed into your personal MyEBSCO account to save searches to the dashboard permanently. You can either make an account with MyEBSCO (see below) or link your MyEBSCO with your KCC Student Google account. If you are not signed in, saved searches are deleted from the dashboard after your session ends or expires.

To save a search to the dashboard: After running a search, click the "Search Actions" menu icon (three dots) on the right and select Save search.

If desired, you can modify the Search name, enter an optional Description, and then click Save.

Click the Close button to return to the result list. You can access the saved search under Searches in the Saved area of the dashboard.

Saved searches can be accessed under the Searches tab in the Saved area of the dashboard.

From within the dashboard, you can:

  • Click the title of the search to retrieve a current result list. This will allow you to retrieve previously saved searches for future use. The database will run the search using the terms you entered and will provide updated results.

  • Click the Bookmark icon on the right side of the search name to delete the saved search from the dashboard.

  • Click the Tools icon (three dots) on the right and select Edit details to edit your saved search. Update the Search name and/or Description field and click Save changes at the bottom of the screen.
