How can I search for a cover story?

Answer

A cover story article in a magazine or journal typically reports on a significant topic, event, or personality that is expected to attract readers' attention. The cover story is usually given prominent placement and is often accompanied by eye-catching graphics and headlines. Searching for cover stories is a good way to see current news in our databases.

Academic Search Complete and MasterFILE Complete databases provide a filter that will search the database for articles that are cover stories, or featured articles, of a magazine, newspaper, or journal.

On the search page in Academic Search Complete, under Filters check the box "Cover Story". Type in your search query, then run your search.

Click on an article from your results list to view additional information. "Cover story" appears in parenthesis after the article title, indicating it is a cover story featured in a magazine or journal.
